Our science museum, with both old and new displays and hands-on activities, is open each week on Friday and Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. beginning Friday, June 2 and ending Saturday, September 2 (Labor Day weekend). ASTRONOMY: THE HEAVENS DECLARE HIS GLORY

This weekend workshop, designed for the general public 6th grade and up, will provide inspiring instruction, engaging labs, and night-sky viewing through a 12” telescope. A good variety of astronomy-related topics will be covered.

Friday 7:00-11:00 pm Astronomy through the Ages, Night-Sky Viewing, Videos ‘n’ Snacks
Saturday 8:00 am-Noon Our Solar System, Moon Phases and Eclipses, Meteorite Impacts, Simulation Lab
Saturday 1:00-4:00 pm The Universe, Models of Cosmic Origin and Light Travel, Principles of the Universe Lab
Saturday 4:00-6:00 pm Travel to Merrill Ranch (1 1/2 hours)
Saturday 7:00-11:00 pm The Gospel in the Stars vs. Astrology, Night-Sky Viewing, Videos ‘n’ Snacks
$90 per person covers instruction, labs, materials, meals, and snacks (lodging and transportation not included).
Dr. Jerry Simmons (DocRock) islead instructor at Heart of America Science Resource Center.He has extensive teaching experience with all age groups and was formerly professor of natural science and mathematics at Barclay College in Haviland, Kansas for nine years. Amateur astronomer Dave Gerstner will provide his expertise with his 12” telescope.
