HEART OF AMERICA SCIENCE MUSEUM

Our science museum, with both old and new displays and hands-on activities, will be open each week on Friday and Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. beginning Friday, June 2 and ending Saturday, September 2 (Labor Day weekend). ASTRONOMY WORKSHOP

“Astronomy: The Queen of Sciences”, a workshop designed for the general public junior high school age and up, will provide instruction, engaging labs, and night-sky viewing (including a 12” telescope). A wide variety of astronomy-related topics will be covered:

∞ Instruments of Astronomy                 ∞ The Universe Beyond
∞ Our Solar System                                 ∞ Models of Cosmic Origin

Starts:  Monday, June 19  2:00 pm

Ends:  Wednesday, June 21  Noon

Basic Fee – covers instruction, labs, materials, and 5 meals    Adult: $100    Student: $80
Lodging – 2 nights at Barclay College, semi-private room         $40

Instructor

Dr. Jerry Simmons (DocRock) is currently professor of natural science and mathematics at Barclay College as well as lead instructor at Heart of America Science Resource Center.

 

CREATION SCIENCE DAY CAMP

This 3-day camp led by Stan and Susan Bryant will be held Monday, July 24 through Wednesday, July 26 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm for students going into grades 3-8. This camp fills up rapidly due to limited space, so please sign up early. The cost is $10/day.
